Workforce Direct is a South African talent platform connecting blue-collar workers with businesses. We act as a responsible party (as defined under POPIA) in respect of the personal information we collect and process.

2. What Information We Collect

For Workers / Applicants

• Full name, ID number, contact details (email, phone number)
• Location, gender, race (for BBBEE and employment equity purposes)
• Work experience, employment history, certifications
• Uploaded documents (Grade 12 certificate, trade certificates, licences)
• Account credentials (email and encrypted password)

For Businesses

• Business name, contact person, email address
• Account credentials
• Platform usage data (search history, CV views, export logs)
• IP address and device information for security and audit purposes

3. Why We Collect Your Information

We collect and process personal information for the following lawful purposes:

• To create and manage your account on our platform
• To match workers with suitable employment opportunities
• To allow businesses to search and access worker profiles (subject to their plan and agreement)
• To generate and deliver CV documents on behalf of workers
• To maintain platform security and prevent misuse
• To comply with South African legal obligations
• To send you relevant platform notifications (no spam)

4. How We Share Your Information

Worker profiles are made available to verified business subscribers on the platform. By creating a profile on Workforce Direct, workers consent to their name, job title, work experience and certifications being visible to subscribed businesses.

We do not:

• Sell your personal information to third parties
• Share your information with advertisers
• Transfer your data outside South Africa without adequate safeguards

We may share information with third-party service providers who assist in operating the platform (e.g., hosting, database providers), strictly under confidentiality agreements and subject to POPIA.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 business days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

6. Your Rights Under POPIA

As a data subject under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate or outdated information
• Delete your personal information (subject to legal obligations)
• Object to the processing of your information
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. Passwords are encrypted and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over secure HTTPS connections.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies

Workforce Direct uses minimal browser storage (localStorage) to maintain your login session. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
